HOPES DIM FOR SEPTEMBER NDAA VOTE IN THE SENATE


A push for a Senate vote on annual defense policy legislation this month is losing steam as the chamber's agenda quickly fills up with other legislative priorities. As the Senate enters the second of a four-week session, no timeline has been set to consider the NDAA this month, though Democratic leaders have yet to take the possibility completely off the table. Senate Armed Services Chair Jack Reed (D-R.I.), meanwhile, continues to press for a debate sometime this month.
