ASSA presents Founders Award to Kaylene Green


ASSA Founder, Carl Fisher, presented Kaylene H. Green, President and CEO, Flagship Government Relations with the Founders Award in memory of the late Laura Haas Knox, former ASSA CEO.

 

Kaylene H. Green has more than 40 years’ combined experience in the federal relations arena, having held leading positions in the private sector, as well as staff positions on Capitol Hill and in the Department of Defense.  Prior to leading the formation of Flagship Government Relations, she held key positions including Chief Operating officer and Vice Chairman at a highly successful Washington lobbying firm.

 

Immediately prior to this, Ms. Green was Vice President of Washington Operations for Bath Iron Works Corporation, leading a team of government relations and program technical personnel for 12 years.  In that capacity, she was the chief communicator of company interests to Members of Congress, Executive Branch officials, foreign government officials, and industry representatives. In leading these efforts, she established and maintained close working relationships with Members of Congress, congressional staff members, uniformed Navy and Coast Guard leaders, and department secretaries and assistant secretaries.

 

Since founding Flagship, Ms. Green has continued to advocate client interests in her areas of specialty, such as shipbuilding, electronics, and advanced technology, through her broad network of relationships with key Members of Congress, congressional staff, and Executive Branch officials.  

 

Ms. Green also maintains her contacts and technical expertisethrough membership in the American Society of Naval Engineers; the National Defense Industrial Association and its Women in Defense affiliate; the Surface Navy Association; and the Navy League.  

 

Ms. Green earned a B.S. in Business Administration (Accounting and Business Legal Studies) from George Mason University, Virginia, where she currently serves as member and past Chair ofthe Dean’s Advisory Council for the Costello School of Business and serves on the Advisory Board for the George Mason Baroni Government Contracting Center of Excellence.
