Last week, ASSA presented the Founder’s Leadership Award to Jay Stefany during a meeting at his office in the Navy Yard. This prestigious award was presented by ASSA Founder Carl Fisher, ASSA CEO & President Roger Camp, and Steve Cobb, RCT President and Past Chairman of the Board of ASSA. “It’s a great privilege to present Jay with ASSA’s highest honor, one he truly deserves through his lifetime of service to the industry,” said Fisher. Jay Stefany’s contributions to the design, development, construction, and

support of US Navy surface ships are legendary. He has been integral to the development of the Amphibious and Auxiliary fleet that has helped project power globally for the Navy and US Marine Corps. Notably, Jay served as Acting Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Research, Development and Acquisition and later as Direct Report Program Manager for the Maritime Industrial Base program. He will retire later this month, and we wish him all the best in his future endeavors.
