The team at ASSA has been working to confirm the schedule for meetings with members of Congress for the Annual ASSA DC Fly-in. The schedule is in formation and subject to change based on the schedules of members of Congress and their staff. Please see the schedule attached. ASSA is focused on holding virtual meetings with members of Congress and their staff on Wednesday, March 1 from 10am EST to 4pm as scheduled. Members will receive Outlook meeting invites and a zoom link to join the team meetings. On Tuesday, March 7th ASSA will meet face-to-face with members of Congress and their staff in their DC Offices from 9:30 EST until 4pm as scheduled. Please see the schedule attached and make plans to join us for meetings as your schedule allows. There is no virtual opportunity for this day of meetings. SENATOR ROGER WICKER WILL BE PRESENTED THE HONORABLE THAD COCHRAN LEADERSHIP AWARD On Tuesday, March 7th at 12:15pm ASSA members will meet with Senator Roger Wicker in his office (425 Russell Senate Office Building) to present him with the Association’s highest honor, The Honorable Thad Cochran Leadership Award. This award recognizes that person in Congress who demonstrates and exemplifies their dedication and commitment to the US domestic shipbuilding supplier industrial base. Past recipients have included Congressman Donald Norcross, Congressman Rob Wittman, Senator Tammy Baldwin, Congressman Joe Courtney, Congressman John Garamendi, and Congresswoman Suzan DelBene. During all these meetings. ASSA members will present the ASSA 2023 White Paper (attached) and make recommendations for the NDAA.
